Platform Issues
Focused on what Shapes Our Community’s Future
Our platform is built around strengthening public safety through better training, modern technology, and community-first leadership. These issues reflect the real needs and priorities of Lamar County: safer neighborhoods, more accountability, and a Sheriff’s Office that works proactively rather than reactively. Each part of this platform is designed to improve the lives of citizens, support deputies, and build a stronger, more prepared department for the future.
Accountability & transparency
Leadership You Can Depend On
Accountability is essential to restoring trust and ensuring professionalism within the Sheriff’s Office. Tim will strengthen internal reporting systems, clarify citizen complaint procedures, and implement updated policies that protect both deputies and the public. Transparent, consistent leadership will reduce liability and create a department the community can confidently rely on.

Training & Education
Building a More Prepared Sheriff’s Office
Tim believes that highly trained deputies are the backbone of an effective public safety team. His plan prioritizes expanded training programs, including computer-based courses and improved property-crime instruction. By investing in better training, Lamar County will have deputies who are more confident, more capable, and better equipped to protect our community.
Proactive Patrols
Moving From Response to Prevention
Tim’s goal is to shift the Sheriff’s Office from reactive policing to a proactive model that prevents crime before it happens. This includes more community engagement, increased visibility, and targeted patrol strategies that focus on problem areas. A proactive approach strengthens trust, reduces crime, and creates safer neighborhoods.

Crime LAB & Crime Scene Technicians
Strengthening Investigations and Solving Crime Faster
To improve case resolution and streamline investigations, Tim supports enhancing the Sheriff’s Office crime lab and technician capabilities. These improvements will allow for quicker, more accurate evidence processing and may even generate revenue by assisting nearby agencies. A stronger investigative foundation means more solved cases and safer neighborhoods.
Technology & Equipment Upgrades
Modern Tools for Modern Public Safety
Tim is committed to updating technology across the Sheriff’s Office with everything from patrol vehicle systems and body-worn cameras to digital forms, printers, and modernized jail software. These upgrades reduce administrative delays, improve officer safety, and ensure deputies have the tools they need in the field. A modern department isn’t a luxury - it’s a necessity for effective law enforcement.

Administrative Modernization
Reducing Delays and Improving Service
Outdated administrative processes slow down deputies and frustrate citizens. Tim plans to modernize digital records, streamline forms, and introduce better data management tools that improve efficiency across the department. These changes will help deputies spend more time serving the public and less time navigating unnecessary red tape.
Jail Improvements
Safer Facilities, Better Oversight
The Lamar County Jail needs immediate modernization to support safety, accountability, and efficient operations. Tim’s plan includes upgrading computer systems and evaluating whether a full renovation or new facility is needed. These improvements will reduce liability, improve staff preparedness, and ensure the jail meets today’s professional standards.

Security Enhancements
Protecting Staff, Inmates, and the Public
A secure Sheriff’s Office starts with secure infrastructure. Tim’s platform includes reinforcing perimeter security, upgrading gates and fencing, and enhancing access control points, especially in high-risk areas like the sally port. These upgrades ensure that everyone working in or interacting with the facility is safer and better protected.
School and Youth Safety
Protecting Our Children Today, Strengthening Our Community Tomorrow
Tim will make the safety of Lamar County students a top priority by strengthening partnerships with schools, increasing deputy presence, and expanding training for critical incidents. He will work closely with educators, parents, and first responders to ensure every campus is secure, every threat is taken seriously, and every child has a safe environment for learning and growth. Tim believes that the community should stand firmly behind its youth, and he is committed to providing that protection as Sheriff.

Combat Drugs
Disrupting the Pipeline, Supporting Recovery, Protecting Families
Drugs are harming too many families in Lamar County, and Tim is prepared to tackle this issue head-on. He will strengthen drug enforcement operations, partner with state and federal agencies to identify suppliers, and hold accountable those who endanger neighborhoods. Tim also supports pathways to recovery for individuals struggling with addiction and will collaborate with local treatment programs and community organizations. His goal is to reduce crime, rebuild lives, and create a safer community for everyone.
Eliminating Human Trafficking
Zero Tolerance for Those Who Exploit the Vulnerable
Human trafficking often hides in plain sight, and it requires a Sheriff who is trained, vigilant, and proactive. Tim will ensure deputies receive specialized training to identify signs of trafficking, coordinate response efforts, and work with regional task forces that track traffickers across county and state lines. His approach will combine strong enforcement with compassionate victim support, ensuring that survivors are protected and criminals face the full weight of the law. Tim is committed to making sure traffickers cannot operate in Lamar County.

Emergency Readiness
Preparing for the Worst, Responding with the Best
When disaster strikes, Lamar County deserves a Sheriff’s Office that is ready to act decisively. With his background in emergency response, Tim will improve countywide preparedness through better communication systems, updated response plans, and regular multi-agency training. He will ensure deputies have the tools and training needed to respond to crises and that citizens receive clear and timely information. Tim is committed to making sure Lamar County is prepared for any emergency.
