MY BACKGROUND
I’ve dedicated my life to service, first in the military, then as a Florida State Trooper, and later as a professional investigator and small business owner here in Lamar County. My career has taken me from high-risk highway patrol and DUI enforcement to major crash investigations, narcotics work, and supporting statewide emergency response teams. These experiences shaped my belief that a Sheriff must be prepared, well-trained, and committed to protecting the people they serve. As a husband, father, and member of this community, I’m invested in Lamar County’s safety and success, both now and for generations to come.
VISION FOR THE FUTURE
My vision for Lamar County is a Sheriff’s Office that serves with integrity, accountability, and a proactive approach to public safety. I believe in strengthening deputy training, expanding crime scene and investigative capabilities, and modernizing our technology so our officers can respond faster, document more effectively, and better protect our citizens. A well-equipped, well-trained team is the foundation of a safer community.
But my vision goes beyond equipment and procedures—it’s about people. I want a Sheriff’s Office that engages with the community, supports local families and businesses, and builds trust through transparency and communication. By bringing proven leadership, modern solutions, and a genuine commitment to service, we can create a safer, stronger Lamar County that reflects the values we all share.

My mission as a candidate for Sheriff is to bring accountability, professionalism, and proactive leadership to the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office. I’m committed to modernizing our department with better training, updated technology, and stronger community engagement so our deputies can prevent crime—not just respond to it.
By focusing on transparency, preparedness, and a genuine partnership with the citizens we serve, my campaign is dedicated to protecting what matters most and building a safer future for every family in Lamar County.

The Making of a Relentless Leader
Tim Brown built his reputation the hard way—through grit, long hours, and a relentless commitment to getting the job done. Early in his law enforcement career, he earned the nickname “Wasp” because once he locked onto a case, he didn’t let go. Whether it was a complex investigation, a tip that needed chasing, or a situation that required immediate action, Tim showed up every time.
From military formations at dawn to high-pressure patrol operations and emergency response missions, Tim has never been afraid of hard work. His career has been shaped by determination, discipline, and a willingness to go where others won’t. That’s the mindset he’ll bring to leading the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office.
Experience That Meets the Moment
Tim’s professional journey spans the full range of public safety — military service, the Florida Highway Patrol, private investigations, and leading teams in child-trafficking operations. His hands-on experience includes roadside enforcement, DUI and crash investigations, undercover operations, surveillance, missing persons cases, fraud detection, and major felony investigations.
As the CEO of Brown Private Investigations, he built a veteran-owned investigative agency from the ground up, managing complex cases and coordinating directly with law enforcement and attorneys. As Director of Investigations for Veterans For Child Rescue, he oversaw operations targeting child trafficking, leading regional teams and developing procedures for building prosecutable cases.
Tim isn’t learning leadership — he’s been living it. His experience reflects real-world readiness for the responsibilities and demands of the Sheriff’s Office.

Tim’s work has earned him recognition at every stage of his career. He received the Governor’s Veteran Service Award for his continued dedication to service. As a Florida State Trooper, he earned multiple commendations for outstanding enforcement and performance, including recognition during a Presidential Secret Service detail, major safety operations, and Hurricane Irma response.
His military service brought additional honors, including the Army Service Ribbon and National Defense Service Medal — acknowledgments of discipline, commitment, and excellence. These awards reflect a simple truth: when Tim is given a responsibility, he exceeds expectations.
This pattern of dependable, high-level performance is exactly what he will bring to Lamar County as Sheriff.
